Cat 5 Music is the student-run music marketing enterprise of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. It was created by the Music Business Department in 2002 with the mission of providing a learning opportunity for music business students to gain real-world experience performing some of the functions of a contemporary music publishing company. It also serves to educate up-and-coming amateur songwriters on how to become professional songwriters from both a creative and business perspective.

     Cat 5 Music reaches out to industry professionals, including music supervisors, record labels and music publishers, to solicit their interest in our songwriters and possible placement of our songs TV, Film, and with recording artists. Cat 5 Music continues to be one of the leading student-run music marketing enterprises in the US.
