Nate Neuwirth is a jazz guitarist and songwriter from Richmond, VA. Through the jazz program at Frost, Nate met his future band members and founded Nuclear Monkey,  a Miami-based, Indie Jazz-Rock band. Nate says, “The band has developed a unique live sound that combines our jazz education with psychedelic, indie, and folk-rock influences.” His biggest musical inspirations include Mild High Club, Steely Dan, Mac DeMarco, and Neil Young. The band began a video series of performances from their dorm room, called the “Nuclear Monkey Tiny Dorm Series,” and released the band’s debut album, “What Wild Ecstacy!” in September 2022. Nuclear Monkey continues to write, record, and perform music in Miami.
